JOHNNY LAWHEAD: True Blue
ABOUT JOHNNY LAWHEAD

Grew up in the south side of Columbus, Oh. in the 60's and 70's. Was on my way to becoming a south side redneck when my life was miraculously changed. At the age of twenty, I accepted Christ as my savior. I immediately began witnessing on the streets of Columbus in sometimes dangerous circumstances. Ordained in 1978, I ministered in central Oh. I 'm married to wife Joyce, together raised our family, Shawn, Kim, and John. Worked hard in the meat business for 30 years while preaching the gospel. Sat under ministers like Rev. Mabel Whipple where Rod Parsley was also saved, and Bishop Brian Keith Williams. Wrote my first song Jesus Crying in 1994. At the age of 12 made fun of country artists like Johnny Cash and Hank Sr. Please forgive me Johnny, I love you man. My love for country music started in the late 80's with artists like Randy Travis and songs like John Dear Green, and Don't Take the Girl. Started writing when I learned some progressions on my guitar. Most country artists learn the struggles of a poor country life and then move to the city. My life was simply reversed. Becoming a singer songwriter is one the best things that ever happened to me. Country people are some of the sweetest people on earth. Country music is fun. I hope I can write songs that bless others like music has blessed me. I have a lot of stories to tell and a great God to praise!
     Love in Christ's name,

ABOUT THE MUSIC

Johnny Lawhead started singing approximately eight years ago. His current album, True Blue, produced in Nashville is full of original songs and inspiration.  The radio release from the album, "Redneck Angel," was written by Johnny. The song is about going beyond the four walls of the church and reaching all people for Christ. Johnny recently coordinated and promoted a concert with various artists in Ohio.  At the concert a lady told Johnny's wife that she related to "Redneck Angel" because it reminded her of her life. Johnny's prayer is that the radio listener will relate in dome way because the message is true to many American women. Johnny believes many people may feel as if they need to wear a mask but the truth is that GOD overlooks our flaws and sees only the best in people. This great song, "Redneck Angel," by Johnny Lawhead is at Christian Country radio nationwide.
